Situated in the Twickenham district, this private residence's backyard design creates a beautiful, relaxing location for the residents to unwind after a stressful day. This garden challenged Bostick Landscape Architects to incorporate a dining patio and outdoor fireplace while still allowing ample open yard space. By separating the elements into two distinct outdoor rooms blended with beautiful bluestone and clay pavers, BLA allowed the back half of the yard to remain as play space for the kids.
BLA utilized some existing large boxwoods to complete the look of the backyard. Authentic brick walls separate the yard from the neighbors on one side, and historic perennials were the plant of choice to allow the beauty of the aged brick walls to show through. The showstopper to the design is the new fireplace, which the owners have used extensively. From a cozy evening fire to watching college football on the TV installed onto the fireplace, this outdoor living room is a favorite for this family.
