Huntsville charged Bostick Landscape Architects (BLA) with creating a master plan for numerous upgrades to provide Brahan Spring Park users a more modern experience. The key to the project was telling the history of the spring and lagoons. At the head of the spring, BLA planned a wharf/stage area along with a new concession and retail area for paddle-boards, kayaks, and paddle-boats engaging patrons and the spring lagoon as a nod to the park’s popular time in the ’70s and ’80s.
Expansion to a popular splash pad, walking trails, seating around the water, swings, new cultural art areas, and better access to the water round out the park’s new design. Updates to existing Little League and other athletic fields and sand volleyball courts are part of the planning to allow for continued use for Huntsville’s growing population.
