With the growth of Huntsville, the Encompass group looked to expand its facilities. Encompass selected a new site on the east side of the city. Bostick Landscape Architects (BLA) provided the design for the site’s two courtyards. BLA worked to ensure that the sidewalks were sized appropriately for patients working to rehab their injuries on the rehabilitation side. BLA used various paving materials to allow patients to adjust to different surfaces and aligned the pathways to make moving through the courtyard challenging to help with recovery. The other courtyard where people come to visit patients boasted an outdoor eating space and benches for visiting.
