Virgil I. Grissom High School, an established public high school in the Huntsville City Schools school district, moved into a new campus in 2017. Bostick Landscape Architects (BLA) created intriguing entry hardscapes throughout the site by highlighting the front, gymnasium, and theatre entries with unique score patterning and plantings. Parking lots were landscaped heavily with large, clonal shade trees to break up the large parking expanses and offset the campus's heat island effect.
BLA designed the sports fields and tennis courts and created opportunities for gates and areas to separate game day events. All the fields were laser graded and sodded to provide opportunities for immediate play.
