Situated at the foot of Cecil Ashburn Drive in one of Huntsville’s fastest-growing retail hot spots, the Legacy Marketplace is a bustling center of activity. The development features a clothing store, Jimmy Johns, and Dunkin Donuts. Bostick Landscape Architects (BLA) designed the hardscape entries and two small eating areas shaded by large trees to provide patrons with nice places to enjoy their coffee or lunch.
The trees’ placement was situated to take advantage of the site’s views and highlight the storefronts. BLA avoided hiding the storefronts from the tree canopies as they mature by using larger trees in the parking lot. Utilizing larger trees in retail areas has been proven to entice customers to spend additional money as they shop.
