At the site of the former Huntsville Times newspaper office and production location, a new retail and office development was born along the Memorial Parkway spine. Several new retail and restaurants now call this development home, and the tower component houses an eye surgery office. Bostick Landscape Architects worked to develop a hardscape plan engaging for visitors of both components with integral color concrete and scoring, enhancing the building’s architecture.
Planting beds and medium-sized trees break up the development’s plaza space between buildings to provide shade to patrons using the courtyard when visiting the coffee shop or out for lunch at the restaurant. Large canopy shade trees throughout the parking lot provide shade for parking, reducing the heat island effect.
